Winter Well-being At Work.

Nurture your team during the seasonal change.

We’ve reached September, and the summer is coming to a close. Whether you’ve been making the most of the school holidays or been enjoying some sunshine, September is a popular time to press reset. Many companies have new starters fresh from graduating or recruit some extra support ready for a busy Q4, so it’s a popular time of year for staff changes and new joiners.

From some, this fresh start can some with a sense of trepidation - maybe it’s bracing ourselves for colder weather and shorter hours of daylight, the commute may feel tougher in the dark, cold mornings. Or maybe it’s just the anticipation of a busy season. No matter how you’re feeling at this moment, taking time to check in with your team can be a great way to align and refocus in preparation for the seasonal change.

Need to take some time to reset your dynamic to improve team wellbeing?

Sharing time together to improve our employee wellbeing and understand our moods is a brilliant way to get the team focused and ready to tackle the challenges ahead. Spending quality time together can foster a sense of community which is great to improve communication and team morale, whilst using the time to learn how to best handle feelings of stress or overwhelm is key for providing the tools needed in difficult moments.

We’re proud to offer a range of experiences to cater to every taste, whether it’s an educational seminar, a creative outlet or a physical release of energy. We’ve curated some of the ones which are perfect for the upcoming calendar moments with a focus on our mental health, we hope you find a spark of inspiration to ignite your team’s full potential at work this Autumn.

Positive Thinking Day

Wednesday 13th September 2023

With workshops including The Power of Positive Thinking and writing Positive Affirmations, you can provide some thought provoking ideas to help maintain a positive mindset when facing an obstacle in the workplace. This can also be explored creatively through our Positive Message Scratchcard Making workshop - not only are they fun to make, they’re also a very thoughtful pick-me-up to gift! Another discipline at the core of positive thinking if practicing self confidence, which can be a tricky skill to practice in our busy lives. Our The Key To Self-Confidence talk is a great way to unlock those mental processes to help us to own our strengths, which radiates into being the best version of ourselves in the workplace. Or how about letting your hair down to some great music? Our Disco Yoga and Drag Aerobics are brilliant for getting to endorphins pumping and feeling great.

World Mental Health Day

Tuesday 10th October 2023

Mental Health is universal, and we can all do with allowing some extra time to spend on keeping it as fit and healthy as possible. You can practice mindful creative activities such as Zentangle, which is a repetitions based art with no rules. Or perhaps green therapy is something your team who love to explore with our Terrarium Making workshops or learn a new art form through Ikebana floral arrangements. If a structured workshop would be a helpful way to learn, then our Reflect & Reset workshop is a fantastic way to learn about your priorities, your boundaries, your goals and creating an attainable structure to help you reach those goals. Or a traditional way to refocus your thoughts, practiced worldwide, is the art of Meditation. This is a skill that takes time to master, but reaps its rewards with regular practice.

Stress Awareness Day

Thursday 2nd November 2023

Stress quickly turns a mental state into physical symptoms. Why not try a EFT Tapping workshop to learn about connecting with pressure points? Or you could try release tension that often held in the face, particularly the jaw, with our Face Yoga workshop. Another place we often hold tension when we are stressed is in our chest, so a Breathwork session can be a great way to release and focus on steady controlled breaths. When you need to decompress after a long day, many people turn to a hot bath and lighting some calming candles. Why not make your own in our Scented Candle Making workshop? The smell of essential oil blends and pouring wax is a brilliant team social activity.

Every day is important

No matter the time of year or changes we go through, different moments are easier for some and harder for others. Part of being a great team is looking out for each other to check in when someone is struggling, and making sure you can offer them time and space for them to open up, whether you're in the office or supporting remote employees. Health and wellbeing is fundamental to being happy at work, productivity and creating a positive working culture.

Wellbeing is an incredibly important aspect of life, both on a personal and professional level. Taking the time to ensure that your team are aware of their own wellbeing, and that of those around them, is a valuable exercise. Sharing time together is a great way to cultivate this sense of wellbeing, developing a stronger atmosphere of understanding and positivity. The benefits of investing time into team togetherness are immense; not only does it encourage individuals to interact and get to know each other, but it can also help to improve their outlook on the workplace. Team members can use such time to get to grips with how they're feeling in order to manage possible stress or anxiety that might arise from their work. Doing so provides the necessary resources and support that may be needed at difficult moments. In doing this, employers can create an environment filled with confidence and productivity, allowing teams to take on challenges and work together collaboratively. Ultimately, fostering better employee wellbeing through shared togetherness can lead to improved work morale, communication, and satisfaction.
